Corporate
Re-branding for The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of British
Columbia
08.02.10
Plinka Design recently worked with The Mutual
Fire Insurance Company of British Columbia (MFIBC) on their
corporate rebranding. MFIBC wanted us to create a fresh, new
identity for them that would not focus solely on their farm
insurance line, but one that would also coincide with their personal
and commercial insurance lines.

DESIGN RATIONALE...
MFIBC has been
established since July 18, 1902 so we started with a diamond to
convey this stability and longevity. The age-old diamond shape is
universally used to represent integrity and trust. We also wanted to
create a feeling of coverage and security in the design to represent
the insurance provider aspect. The swooshes that wrap around the
diamond convey a sense of safeness and protection. MFIBC is a
mutual insurance company - it's owned by it's members. We
designed the logo with two swooshes to show that there is more than
one party involved. With these elements combined, the new logo
communicates a strong and secure message with a glint of
distinctiveness that will set
The Mutual Fire Insurance
Company of British Columbia apart from
the rest!
